Ghost Robot Grows Their List of Accolades with Grammy Nomination for Director Bryan Schlam

Ghost Robot closes out the year with a series of client wins and accolades that include newly Grammy-nominated director Bryan Schlam and his work on Tyler Childers’ ‘In Your Love’ music video.

The award-winning creative studio of the future is on a roll, currently slated for yet another round of their acclaimed brand work for Google’s Career Certificates program that garnered over 37M views in its inaugural debut. The online training course, consisting of three web videos, offers professional certificates in fast-growing, high-demand technology fields: ‘Epic Career Quest,’ ‘Job Hoppers,’ and ‘Guidance Counselors’. This work supports other successful agency and brand campaigns for the likes of Netflix, Peloton and Airbnb, to name a few.

Schlam’s ‘In Your Love,’ nominated for Best Music Video, stars Colton Haynes (WB’s ‘Arrow’) and James Scully (Netflix’s ‘You’), and is up against heavy competition with the likes of Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar. A highly collaborative effort, the video features an emotional story of love and loss between two gay men working in a 1950s rural Appalachian coal mine. Schlam worked tirelessly with the Ghost Robot production team to source authentic locations and period detail, noting: “I spent so much time sourcing through archival footage of miners in ’50s and ’60s. Just looking at every single detail from exact helmets, to the tools they used, to how dirty their clothes and faces were.”

Ghost Robot CCO Mark DePace adds, “We’re proud of how Bryan continues to innovate in the music video space, building narrative worlds that are rich with details and elevate the emotive qualities of the music. The medium has always been near and dear to our hearts and a key component of the Ghost Robot DNA.”

An integral part of Ghost Robot’s community of creative talent, Schlam continues to make waves with other memorable work that includes documentary film, commercial advertising and music videos. Schlam’s clients include Dollar Shave Club, Discover, Grammarly, Google, Amazon Music, Chevrolet, Lincoln Motor Company; and celebrity work for The Black Keys, James Bay, Elijah Wood, and most recently this second collaboration with acclaimed country music star, Tyler Childers.

The 66th Grammy Awards will air Sunday, February 4th.
