Nomad Adds Powerhouse Editor Ally Gondeck to Roster

It’s been quite the year for editorial and VFX company Nomad with the additions of celebrated editors Raj Ramnauth and recently VMA-nominated editor Zoë Mountain. Their worldwide team of sought-after talent continues to grow with the latest addition of editor Ally Gondeck.

Coming from a musical upbringing and with unwavering passion for sound and visuals, Gondeck boasts an impressive career collaborating on high-profile projects for some of today’s top artists. Gondeck’s timelines have debuted videos for the likes of Ciara, Camila Cabello, Willow Smith, Yungblud, and Big Sean. Yungblud’s music video “Lowlife”, cut by Gondeck, earned her a well-deserved shortlist for Kinsale’s Best New Editor award and premiered on the revered Times Square marquis.

As a multi-faceted editor, Gondeck has also colored her portfolio working on spots for known brands like Sony, Lexus, BMW, New Balance, and Tommy Hilfiger to name a few.

“The art form of editing lies in finding ways to continue to embellish your own voice as well as the director’s,” shares Gondeck. “For me this happens after I get a first pass down and a piece is starting to shape as an edit rather than a scribbled down assembly. That’s where I feel creative.”

Gondeck’s first project with Nomad is the highly anticipated video for the song ‘Feather’ by global popstar and internet sensation, Sabrina Carpenter. The track has already clocked over 100 million streams and can be found trending as a viral song on TikTok. With fans and talent alike eagerly awaiting the release of visuals for this upbeat anthem, the process of bringing it to life has been equally as exciting thanks to decorated director Mia Barnes of Radical Media and and renowned production company, Freenjoy.

“The first cuts of Feather moved at a really fast pace. When Mia and I were on set, I had something together by the end of the shoot day. The focus was on capturing the nuanced emotions of a glamorous popstar with darker undertones, giving it a cinematic feel rather than a typical music video. Mia’s voice is one I can deeply relate to. Our collaborations make the process all the more special, creating something both novel and unforgettable.”

Julia Williams, Executive Producer, commented, “Ally is a true powerhouse. With a proven track record in commercials and music videos, she seamlessly embodies our commitment to creativity. We’re excited to welcome Ally and are confident she’ll be a key player in our creative culture.”

Editor and Partner Jai Shukla added, “Creative editing is both an innate talent and a cultivated craft. In our dynamic industry, editors like Ally reaffirm that the future holds great promise. We are thrilled to have her here.”

Gondeck stays ahead of industry and pop culture trends, ensuring her craft is ever evolving by deftly infusing inspiration and fresh narratives into projects where she sees their potential. Ultimately, Ally’s greatest source of inspiration comes from the people she works with. “Surrounding yourself with like minded and unique creatives is crucial. It’s a driving force that forever challenges and fuels my passion for editing and Nomad is the perfect space for that.”
