Music & Sound Company New Math Welcomes Renowned Multi-Instrumentalist/Composer Jake Falby as LA Senior Producer

Bicoastal, full-scale music and sound company New Math has strengthened its leadership in Los Angeles with the appointment of multifaceted violinist, composer and production specialist Jake Falby to Senior Producer.

During his storied career, Falby has been involved in hundreds of rewarding, high-profile scoring and recording productions. Along the way, he’s produced notable Super Bowl efforts like Loctite’s well-received 2015 “Positive Feelings” Super Bowl spot directed by Tim & Eric, lent his sonic talents to campaigns for Bacardi, Hyundai and Chobani, and showcased his skills as a violinist around the world, with recent engagements including studio collaborations with Nick Murphy and Dave Harrington as well as live performances with popular, critically acclaimed artists like Camilla Cabello, Julie Byrne and Julianna Barwick.

It’s Falby’s versatility and musical expertise, in fact, that New Math Partner/Creative Director David Wittman and team found most appealing when looking to fill the Senior Producer position. “Music is one of the most subjective and visceral parts of our industry, and we wanted someone who speaks the language fluently,” he explains. “What ultimately felt like a home run with Jake was his musicality. He’s a sharp and experienced producer as well as an accomplished violinist and composer. His enthusiasm about helping build out our final mix offering in LA is what made the timing perfect. Between Jake’s production experience, his musical talent and his extensive relationships with musicians, artists and bands on both coasts, he’s a jack of all trades and a valuable addition to the team.”

By taking on the Senior Producer role, Falby not only has a valuable opportunity to ramp up New Math’s West Coast operations in terms of its team, client base and service offering, but manage project workflow from initiation to completion, work closely with the New York team on certain projects and also reconnect with his longtime collaborators including New Math Partner/Composer Raymond Loewy. “Having known and worked with Ray and his crew for half a decade, I already knew what an outstanding team New Math had built,” Falby says. “So when the chance arose for me to come on board, I jumped on it. It’s unusual to be able to come into a new position where the people you’re working with are not only colleagues but are also some of your closest friends. I’m incredibly lucky to have found that at New Math. It’s truly the rarest combination of people who are exceptionally gifted at what they do but also know how to have fun while doing it.”
