Bicoastal content creation studio LOGAN has worked directly with 20th Century Fox to create the viral marketing video “In the Footsteps of… En Sabah Nur” for Marvel’s latest X-Men film, X-Men: Apocalypse.
The viral video, which features the voice of Star Trek legend George Takei, evokes cult 1970s-80s syndicated television series “In Search of …” with grainy retro footage shot on VHS home camcorders. The video introduces En Sabah Nur, or Apocalypse, portrayed by Oscar Isaac, the first and most powerful mutant who awakens after thousands of years in his quest to destroy humanity and reign over the world.
The viral video is the latest facet to 20th Century Fox’s social media campaign for the summer blockbuster, which opens on May 27 in the United States and also stars Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender.
X-Men: Apocalypse is LOGAN’s latest entertainment marketing campaign. Past projects include work for Spider-Man, Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Infamous: Second Son and The Order: 1886. Recent work on brand campaigns include G-SHOCK, Clinique and Apple, among others.
