1stAveMachine London Strengthens Roster with Addition of Director Tim Brown

Production company 1stAveMachine continues to solidify the talent in its London office by welcoming hometown director Tim Brown to its roster.

One can call it a reunion of sorts as Brown actually cut his directing teeth early on while at 1stAveMachine’s New York hub. During his career, the multitalented Brown has not only helmed commercials including Lincoln’s “Hello Again,” the award-winning “Extensions” campaign through BBH New York for Google as well as Smartwater’s “Look Up” effort, but has displayed his artistic prowess in the worlds of fashion photography, art direction and music videos.

“We’ve been keeping an eye on Tim’s work for quite some time,” says 1stAveMachine London Managing Director/Executive Producer, Isabella Parish. “As we continue building an elite roster in London, we found his style and approach to be an ideal fit for our team.”

Now that’s he’s established his permanent base back in London, Brown and 1stAveMachine have immediately commenced collaboration, working on a rather ambitious, conscientious campaign with agency Mother that celebrates the ongoing “Buy a Lady a Drink” partnership between Stella Artois and Matt Damon’s charity, Water.org. Joining forces with fellow 1stAveMachine director Bob Partington, Brown helped raise awareness of the global water crisis by reinventing the optical illusion device known as the zoetrope, in this case filling a spiraling structure with Stella chalices to tell an animated success story in a developing nation.

According to Brown, the opportunity to work on such a meaningful project helped strengthen his ties to 1stAveMachine and its rapidly building London office. “I consciously wanted to grow my relationship with 1stAve,” he says. “As one of the first six or seven directors on the roster in the US, I felt very close to the core of the company, so it’s nice to kick off our new relationship with such an important campaign.”
