UNO NYC Launches Williamsburg Bridge Radio: An Exclusive Music App for the Bridge

New York, NY — The Williamsburg Bridge now has a soundtrack. Curated by UNO NYC, Williamsburg Bridge Radio is a music app that works exclusively on the bridge. It plays a hype track for going up and a chill track for going down, with new tracks daily. But you have to be there, because W.B.B.R is only broadcast on the bridge.

Created by Sid Lee, W.B.B.R was built in collaboration with NY-based designer and developer Eric Hu. The music is curated by UNO NYC, so W.B.B.R will broadcast exclusive new music from a rotating roster of UNO artists like Mykki Blanco, Feral, and Dutch E Germ and Gobby.

“New York is the touch point for a lot of our artists and the music we release with them. Whether they live here or we had an interaction in the city, New York is often the focal point” Jon Alcindor at UNO NYC explains.

“The bridge is a unique place in the world. Arriving in Manhattan is still spectacular, even after you do it every single day. We’re excited to give it a unique soundtrack.” W.B.B.R turns on automatically once users arrive the bridge and knows when you’re heading up or down it.

W.B.B.R. is the latest project from Sid Lee, following a series of large-scale multidisciplinary campaigns for internationally recognized brands. Most recently, the agency helmed a stunt-driven journey around the globe for Samsung and a series of innovative events for Absolut.

The local’s local station is now in the app store. Click here to download W.B.B.R. in the iTunes App store or visit
