Multifaceted Gabe McDonough Joins MAS as Executive Producer

MAS is thrilled to welcome award-winning music and advertising expert Gabe McDonough as Executive Producer.


McDonough is a passionate musician with an unmatched reputation in the worlds of both music and advertising. He began his diverse career working at a Chicago record label and concert venue, before being hired by DDB. While there, McDonough was tapped to lead the music department as VP/Sr. Producer of Music and Integration. He then moved on to direct music operations at Leo Burnett and later TBWA/Chiat/Day’s Media Arts Lab (MAL), building a prestigious decade-long career before bringing his considerable talents to MAS. As a producer, McDonough has negotiated hundreds of deals worth millions of dollars, earning him a spot as one of Billboard’s 40 Under 40.

Over the years, McDonough’s client list has included the world’s largest international brands such as Apple, Samsung, McDonald’s, Allstate, Kellogg’s, and countless others. His production prowess claimed awards for #1 Music Track of 2013 (Shoot), Best Placement in an Ad 2013 (Midem), and one of the 5 Best Ad Songs of All Time (Billboard).

With over two decades of experience as a live bassist, McDonough also has a deep understanding of every corner of the music industry. He credits much of his success as a producer to thousands of hours spent as a performer on the road, in cramped practice spaces, and in the studio.

Gabe recently collaborated with Team Detroit on their Ford 2015 Edge campaign, sourcing the Rachel Platten hit “Fight Song” to inspiring, triumphant effect. He joins MAS on the heels of a string of high profile projects, including a moving partnership between Natasha Bedingfield and beauty brand Philosophy for a product launch tied to their recent charity initiative, Hope and Grace. The philanthropic campaign donated 1% of all profits toward community-based organizations that support women battling mental illness.
