TRUST Trivia: Derrick Rose
Chicago native Chicago Bulls Point Guard Derrick Rose has had a rough past few seasons, suffering consecutive injuries. While TRUST can’t get enough of his awesome endorsement deals, we also want to see him back on the court in full swing.
Here’s some fun and endearing trivia that you may not know about the NBA star:
He knows how to stay grounded.
As an infant, Rose was given the nickname “Pooh” by his grandmother, who thought that he looked like Winnie the Pooh. The now 25-year-old Derrick wears a tattoo reading: “The Great Poohdini.”
He is 100% Bull.
Derrick has former Chicago Bulls Guard B.J. Armstrong as his agent.
He gets a card on Father’s Day.
Rose’s then-girlfriend, Mieka Reese, gave birth to their son, Derrick, Jr. (PJ) on Oct. 9th, 2012.
He always aspired for greatness.
Michael Jordan was his childhood basketball hero. In 2011, Rose received the NBA Most Valuable Player Award, becoming the youngest player ever to win this award at 22. He is the only Chicago Bulls player to win the honor aside from Jordan.
…Looks like somebody believed he could fly.
