Tool Signs Multi-Dimensional Director Matt Ogens

Tool of North America welcomes Director Matt Ogens, the versatile talent behind the acclaimed docu Confessions of a Superhero. Aside from this memorable account of four eccentric, superhero-impersonating actors bent on making it in Hollywood, Ogens has directed a series of successful projects for the TV and ad spaces. His recent spot campaigns include notables for Toyota, Hitachi, and Mars/M&M's. On the TV front, credits include two ESPN original series entitled Timeless and The Life, which garnered three Emmy nominations.

Ogens' TV work also encompasses segments from the annual awards show CNN Heroes, which spotlights ordinary people who have made an extraordinary impact in the lives of others in Cambodia, Africa, the front lines of Iraq, and other far-flung locales. His resume includes work for MTV and VH1 (a pilot about hip-hop superstar-turned-actor Ludacris), and sequences for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for CBS. An accomplished photographer, Ogens' print work has been featured in Creative Review's Photography Annual and honored as one of American Photo's Images of the Year.

"Matt can create a scene that is visually powerful and engaging," noted EP Brian Latt. "His abilities are especially apparent in his documentary work, where his great eye for composition and his gift for crafting a genuine and oftentimes emotionally charged story are evident."

Prior to joining Tool in 2010, Ogens spent time at Rabbit.
