Brief:
From a creative concept that only intimated to the development of impossible beauty, rhinofx created an entirely unique and technologically innovative opening and closing Design sequence for the project. The opening of the film takes viewers on continuous progression from abstract to defined, pulling out of an intricate yet ambiguous journey from deep inside the inner eye, building suspense and clarity as the shot widens out from the perspective of a computer eye scanner. Discussing the process, rhinofx CD/Director Arman Matin notes, "We wanted to design something intricate and organic, absolutely unique that had never been seen before."
To deliver the desired result, the rhinofx team developed and programmed custom fractal image generation software that could create the true visual rarity necessary to make the scene work. The six-month development process involved custom image generation software, original digital matte paintings, complex CGI layering, and programming involving multiple and complex layers and ultra-high-res rendering. The design team, led by Matin, combined these elements to create the powerful three minute opening and closing scenes as well as an additional six-second sequence representing the movement of data across the internet. The work reflects rhinofx's ability to deliver high-end and striking visual imagery across both photo real and abstract design mediums. The proprietary image generation software they developed for the project underscores their ability to push the limits of current technology to deliver results. Rick Wagonheim, Partner/Managing Director of rhinofx, commented on the project, noting that "these conceptual design sequences represent a truly amazing level of work, truly top-tier design that takes advantage of customized and advanced technology-this really is some of our most exciting film work to date."
