audioEngine Mixes Jennifer Hudson Campaign for Weight Watchers
audioEngine Mixer Tom Goldblatt, working via McCann, recently handled audio post for a Weight Watchers campaign starring actress and singer Jennifer Hudson. The spots, which introduce the company's new PointsPlus program, opens on a dark stage. When Hudson begins whaling "Feeling Good," a reworking of the Nina Simone classic about a bold, new world, the stage begins to brighten, reaching a crescendo as she belts out, strutting, arms spread wide, "It's a new day!"
" 'Feeling Good' was just the right song for the Weight Watchers message," noted Mixer Tom Goldblatt, who's watched the Weight Watchers spots evolve over the past four years, collaborating with McCann. "When Salaam Remi and Jennifer Hudson started working with the new arrangement, we saw the campaign come alive right before our eyes. It was so powerful. As always, McCann had an incredible amount of creative input, and the sessions were energetic and fluid. It has been an honor working with everyone throughout the process and I look forward to our next collaboration."
