audioEngine Bakes Up Amusing Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Spot
In this season of patriotism, audioEngine Mixer Hillary Martel, via Crispin Porter + Bogusky, helped bring the spirit of President Thomas Jefferson to life in a hilarious spot for Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.
The :30 opens with the president mounted on a steed, the American flag waving in the background as a pipe-and-drum melody straight from the American Revolution plays on. When the scene is revealed to be a Fourth of July backyard barbeque, a peppy suburban housewife offers Jefferson a taste of Kraft's Baked Macaroni and Cheese. The president throws a tantrum, claiming that the company stole his famous recipe. When he burns his hands attempting to make off with the entire vat of mac and cheese as "criminal evidence," he is forced to plunge them into a vat of punch to cool off.
Martel perfectly complements this footage with a mix of the musical track and various sound effects as Jefferson pops a balloon, overturns a table, and generally disrupts the party.
