Fore! audioEngine Crushes Golf App on TV and the Web

The perpetually frustrating game of golf just got much easier with the introduction of seeitgolf's app for the iPhone and iPad. The interactive experience offers a customizable visualization training experience, in which the user can create their own video by combining a menu of music and footage of golf pros at work, from world-renowned putting instructor Stan Utley to PGA Tour champion Aaron Baddeley.

Of course, this cutting edge tool requires great music and sound, which is where the talents of audioEngine Composer Jason Camiolo and Mixer Bob Giammarco were vital. Their contributions invigorate not only this innovative app, but also the corresponding DVD and all spots for the broadcast and online campaigns.

"This was a great opportunity to showcase audioEngine's versatility," noted Giammarco. "We can handle any aspect of mixing or music composition, in any format, and that really shows on this multifaceted project. We're tremendously excited to be branching out from traditional mediums to tackle the challenges presented by new platforms like the iPhone 4 and the iPad."

Giammarco mixed the sound on every platform, making sure that the impact of the golf club with the ball hits the sweet spot with the perfect echoing clunk and the clanging of the golf ball on the bottom of the cup rang with perfect timing.

Camiolo's original compositions enliven the app and accompany the action on each of the spots. In the TV spot - a snapshot of Aaron Baddeley sizing up a shot followed by screen displays of the seeitgolf app breaking it down from various angles - Camiolo plays drums on a dramatic track that perfectly complements the onscreen action.

The web spots are similar. The first is a montage of brain images, computerized lines between the ball and the far-off hole, and screen shots of the app. "In a game that's 90 percent mental," a voiceover asks, "what are you doing to train your brain?" Camiolo takes up the drums for the accompanying track, a rocking, pulsating, relentless beat.

The second web spot features a song that also appears on the app and training DVD: a suspenseful score that matches the principal onscreen image - a ball, shown from an overhead view, drifting slowly across a green and into the hole.
