audioEngine Mixes Cablevision Spot Nixing FiOS

Anyone looking for hassle-free access to the channels they love should look to Cablevision, according to a hilarious two-spot campaign mixed by audioEngine Mixer Rex Recker. In each spot, a FiOS salesman's flabbergasted mother attempts to set him straight as he tries desperately to offload the provider's services to his customers.

In Mannequin, the hapless huckster is perched in his mall kiosk - with the low rumble of conversation tumbling in the background - delivering his closing sales pitch to a couple, when his mom happens upon him and the camera shifts to reveal him talking to a pair of mannequins. As his exacerbated parent scolds him, a saleswoman leads a segway-bound mall cop to apprehend him for theft of the dummies. Recker flawlessly mixes in the sounds of radio fuzz as the stoic patrolman calls for backup, and the hum of the segway as it shoots off after the fleeing salesman.

Weather opens with the mother encouraging her frustrated son as mall traffic shuffles past. Suddenly, a soaking wet woman hustles around the corner and storms toward him. As the angry woman's soaking shoes squeak with each step, the dumbstruck mother realizes that she is another customer who was caught in the rain because FiOS didn't carry News 12's traffic and weather, and she tries to calm her by explaining that she can simply switch back to Cablevision. The strategy succeeds - until the less than magna cum laude son again infuriates the woman with an impolitic remark and she rushes back toward him.
