audioEngine to Mix Second Consecutive Season of Avec Eric
When four-star chef Eric Ripert resumes his global search for the world's greatest food in the latest season of Avec Eric, he will be doing it to the expert mix of audioEngine's Bob Giammarco. In a collaboration with Anamoly, Giammarco will mix all 13 episodes of the itinerate chef's highly regarded show for the second consecutive season.
A preview of Giammarco's work appears in a recently released Avec Eric promo, in which Ripert seeks out the finest farmer's markets, livestock farms, fresh crabs and live fish amidst stunning scenery, clanging kitchens, and a slideshow of delectable dishes. Giammarco expertly mixes an upbeat song with the chef's distinct accent and the sounds of food being prepared and sampled.
"When Anomaly's Head of Production Andrew Loevenguth approached me to work yet another job together, I immediately committed," noted Giammarco. "We have a longstanding relationship and I knew he'd be a valuable resource as we confronted the challenges of mixing such a show. In particular, crafting high-quality dialogue is difficult given the myriad sounds - crashing ocean waves, bleating barnyard animals - prevalent in Eric's on-location shoots. Fortunately, we have a ton of experience shooting such scenes for both shows and documentaries, and, with the number of tools available in the toolbox these days, there are very few problems we can't fix or at least make workable."
