jumP’s Luis Moreno Cuts Maroon 5’s ‘Daylight’

When Maroon 5 set out to create a video for Daylight, a soulful song from their Overexposed album, they ditched the studio format in favor of footage delivered by their fans from all over the world. Partnering with Director Jonas Åkerlund, jumP Editor Luis Moreno took on the Herculean task of paring the countless confessions down into a moving 9:00 story. Moreno notes, “In trying to tell their stories I felt it was imperative to represent the fans with the utmost respect.” Dicing a torrent of admissions of love, fear, sorrow and hope with footage of birthday parties, minor athletic events, puppies and family reunions, Moreno expertly weaved the moments that hold people together.
